New Token Skeptic Episode – And The Australian Book Of Atheism!

by podblack on August 11, 2010

I have a cold and everything has just slowed down to a crawl because of it. :/ I spent most of the day quietly editing and taking notes on a documentary I hope to use in class on the topic of creationism and intelligent design – so this new episode really cheers me up (even though you can hear me being quite snuffly during the introduction to it)!

Token Skeptic Episode #33 – On Coral Reefs And Climate Change – An Interview With Craig Reid Conducted By Warren Bonett

Over the past ten years, Craig Reid has been working on coral reefs as a diver, educator, researcher and underwater photographer. Coral Reefs and Climate Change, his first publication as principle author, is the culmination of more than five years of work with the Coral Watch team at the University of Queensland. He spoke at the Embiggen Bookstore (http://embiggenbooks.com) on Saturday, 3rd July, and this is an exclusive interview he gave to Warren Bonett afterwards!

The book, Coral Reefs and Climate Change: the guide for education and awareness by Craig Reid, Justin Marshall, Dave Logan and Diana Kleine for Coralwatch at the University of Queensland, is available via this link.

In addition – it is with very big thanks to Warren Bonett and Dr Karen Stollznow, that an essay I wrote will be included in a forthcoming book!! The Australian Book of Atheism is planned to be released later this year:

The collection showcases a range of published authors, including Robyn Williams, Michael Bachelard, and Leslie Cannold, as well as new voices from the blogosphere and beyond, culminating in a diverse and entertaining read that canvasses the political, philosophical, educational, personal, historical, and social and cultural realms of belief and religion.

This is Scribe’s anti-Christmas book for 2010. It contains pieces by around 35 contributors.
