Homeopathy ‘Suicide’ At Australian Skeptics Convention, 2004

by podblack on January 17, 2010

Since it was asked online in regards to the 10:23 campaign – which you should be checking out and signing up to support! - “has there been an effort to do a ‘mass suicide’ by homeopathic remedies before?”

Australian Skeptics 2004 Convention – Homeopathy
The Great Skeptic Attempted Mass Suicide Using Homeopathic Crap: Just how many sleeping tablets with nothing in them do you have to take to get an overdose? Have a look at the ten minute mark to see Dr Karl help take part, and of course, Skeptic Zone’s Richard Saunders.

This year - the 10.23 Event:

At 10:23am on January 30th, more than three hundred homeopathy sceptics nationwide will be taking part in a mass homeopathic ‘overdose’ in protest at Boots’ continued endorsement and sale of homeopathic remedies, and to raise public awareness about the fact that homeopathic remedies have nothing in them.

Although not strictly a mass suicide by homeopathy event, as I recall James “The Amazing” Randi has individually demonstrated the ineffectiveness of overdosing on homeopathic “solutions” a massive number of times.
