New Podcast – Token Skeptic

by podblack on December 26, 2009

Just launched the first episode yesterday (will be tinkering with sound, pace… will improve, honest!) – the Token Skeptic podcast first episode “On Santa” online and is heading towards iTunes as I type!

While listening to a great Skepticality podcast episode (www.skepticality.com), I found I had many unanswered questions.
Delving into the research, I started checking out what research has been done into belief in Santa. Is it such a bad thing to believe in Santa… and how would you gather evidence about the pros and cons?

Could belief in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy and so forth, be a natural part of childhood development… and can it be used to tell us more about human nature?
Intro song is “P & P” by Derek K Miller of http://www.penmachine.com.
Outro song is “What If Every Day Were Christmas”, by Podsafe for Peace, produced by Slau and co-written by Orlando Pagan, from www.podsafeforpeace.org.

Next episode will be out tomorrow (Sunday), just so I can start getting ahead of myself during the week. It should be out every Thursday morning from now on. Feel free to send in suggestions and questions.

(Includes recipes – I Am Not To Be Trifled With. Just because. :p)

You don’t sleep do you? Give my 100 podblacks and I could conquer the world. Will be downloading after the Skeptic Zone

I’ve just listened to both episodes released so far. Absolutely brilliant, Kylie!

This is an area of skepticism that interests me, and it’s great to hear it from someone capable of putting together interesting podcasts (I nearly wrote podcats, but that wouldn’t be a bad thing). Looking forward to the next instalment. :)
