Blog Will Resume In January

by podblack on December 27, 2009

At approximately 11pm, after nearly three years of illness due to brain cancer, my mother-in-law died. She is the fourth member of our family that we’ve lost in two years. We were all very close and I don’t think I can write much more on this.

Please excuse the hiatus and I’ll resume writing next year. Please feel free to check out this previous post – Breaking For The Break – Past Reads And Future Events – if you’re interested in checking out my site.

Episodes of the podcast Skeptic Zone and Token Skeptic have been pre-recorded and will continue regardless; Skeptic Zone will be out on the Friday as usual and the Token Skeptic will be out tomorrow and on Mondays after that. Thanks.

I’m so sorry that there wasn’t more they could do and I wish I was there to hug you in person. Take care of yourself for a change, hon. {{{Kylie}}}

I feel really bad for you – I’ve never lost a close family member, and you appear to be doing it every six months… :( That must be really hard.

Very sorry for your loss.

You’ll be welcomed back with open arms … as always, of course. ;)

As already written here, please take as much time as you need.

With heartfelt hopes, for you and yours.

Insofar as sympathy and best wishes can be transmitted electronically, here they are.

Also, these don’t work so well in variable-width font, but:

___________

/………./.|
+———-+..|
|. Box of .|..|
|hugs that |..+~~~~
|. never ..|./
| runs out |/

Thanks everyone.
We had the meeting with the funeral directors today, and I think it was a little tougher than I thought it’d be. :/ Both from a personal and a ‘skeptic’ point of view. Anyway, thanks for thinking of us all.

Sorry for your loss (man that sounds crap, but I mean it). It’s never easy losing those we love.
