One thing that pushed my anger buttons particularly hard was Anne Widdicombe’s insinuation (which Stephen Fry alluded to in the final installment with that wonderful burglary analogy) that it was somehow wrong on Christopher Hitchens’s part to mention condoms. I cannot begin to describe the contempt with which I hold that attitude.

The anti side wasn’t without its faults, for example Stephen Fry said that Galileo was tortured, which is untrue and I think he should have known better.

I enjoyed the videos. Thanks for sharing them.

Wonderful! Made my day. I’d heard of this, of course, but hadn’t seen it. Fry was particularly great. It was unfair, really, because the two on the other side could barely marshal a decent sentence, let alone a decent argument. Of course, I also have serious doubts that anyone could have gone up against Hitchens and Fry and come out much better. Bravo to them both. I loved watching those poll numbers at the end. Lovely. Thanks!

I could barely watch.. it was like watching frail old men getting pounded by champion boxers.

My comment posted last night obviously hasn’t made it through. I’m wondering if there was a technical error.
