Reliance On Homeopathy Poses A Threat And AntiVaxers.Com

by podblack on October 12, 2009

I’ve been hideously busy and this will continue for a while, especially since I seem to have two battling email systems that eat all my important documents. Today I even ended up contributing a little time towards someone else’s PhD (no, I don’t have one; yes, it’d be nice to have one!).

Anyway. Some days it feels like it’s ‘one step forwards – two back’, so these two links were a nice finding. Especially after all the 2009 recipient of the Richard Dawkins Award Bill Maher doesn’t believe in vaccines or “Western medicine” furor

So, without further ado – ‘Reliance on homeopathy poses a threat‘ – a letter to The Australian:

So, I have just one question for our health regulators: how do you sleep at night knowing you continue to allow homoeopathic products to be legally peddled in the healthcare marketplace as substitutes for effective therapeutic treatment for the most helpless and vulnerable members of the community, our children?

Why target the Australian Vaccination Network?

The Australian Vaccination Network (AVN) is Australia’s largest anti-vaccination organisation. They have been running a campaign of misinformation and fear-mongering since 1994. Many people who now refuse to vaccinate cite the information that they received from the AVN as being partly, or wholly, responsible for their decision not to vaccinate.
This site will include evidence that the AVN provide misleading information, promote dangerous practices, subscribe to various conspiracy theories, and therefore should not be allowed to continue their campaign which is contributing to a degradation in public health.
