Great summary in the most recent e-Skeptic on Dragon*Con! Very pleased to see that Daniel Loxton picked

up on many of the elements that make me support Dragon*Con as a skeptic conference. What I would have additionally added was how much you get out of volunteering and helping at a conference. It enables you to get to know people and know that you’re a part of making the show work and it’s a tremendous amount of fun too. This is my fourth time of volunteering ‘behind the scenes’ at a skeptical conference and it’s always been more than rewarding in itself.
There’ll be a short segment on an upcoming episode of the Skeptic Zone podcast on some of the demographics attending the conference. Please note – send in feedback to the conference coordinators about what you liked (and what you’d like to see more of!) to feedback at dragoncon.org.

Get on the stick people! You only have 351 days to get your plans nailed down until Dragon*Con Skeptrack 2010 is up yo’ butt!
Hey do we do the same a popular culture cons in Aus? Might be another avenue for spreading the skeptical message?
Sean – I’ve ALREADY written to the World Science Fiction convention, happening in Melbourne next year…
I hope WorldCon doesn’t conflict with Dragon*Con. I remember it has in the past.
I think it does, Derek! So, it might end up being a choice… can you possibly manage D*C without me? :/ It’s all early days though, there may be complications that prevent Melbourne. I have already got D*C penciled in though.
