The University of Western Australia’s Atheist and Agnostic Society are planning to celebrate Open Day by recognizing the contribution of rationalism. UWA happens to be the Alma mater of comedian/performer Tim Minchin and Kylie Sturgess of the Skeptic Zone podcast.
Since Perth isn’t a big town and we’re so isolated from the rest of the country, what few events we have are organized by a few keen groups. The Perth Atheists and the Western Australian Humanists are but two long-term groups here who are committed to helping out these students. Now it’s your turn.
To support the group and promote networking with the next generation, the Skeptic Zone podcast are planning on having Dr Rachael Dunlop and Richard Saunders repeat their successful presentation of ‘Skepticism 101′ and ‘Adventures of a Scientist in an Alt Med World‘ at UWA on the 8th August.
Earlier this year they presented at the University of Melbourne, thanks to the wonderful Young Australian Skeptics and their popular podcast, ‘The Pseudo Scientists’. We really want to connect with listeners and stakeholders across the country, not just the higher-populated Eastern side – so this is our chance too!
