In case you’re wondering why things are not being updated for a bit, it’s due to work. Too much writing to do, thesis to finish and (as you may have noticed) too many filler YouTube videos already… but there are some things that you can check out in the meantime and take part in.
Firstly – Skeptic Zone podcast has been broadcasting some of the Amazing Meeting 7 interviews and events already. Expect to get more updates on the podcast in that regard and a few more surprises in store. I’ll contribute as much as I can, time permitting.
Secondly – if you’re in Perth, Western Australia (sorry, Scotland)? Check out the Perth Atheists Meetup for details of not only ONE but THREE events you can be a part of! That’ll be the Skeptic Zone presenters Richard Saunders and Dr Rachael Dunlop at the University of Western Australia (thanks to the UWA Atheist and Agnostic society and the WA Humanists) – with an additional get-together at the Flying Scotsman on Sunday and a dinner afterwards! Head to the MeetUp group for the Perth Atheists for more details on all three events.
Finally – thank you very much to everyone who filled in the Skeptic Zone survey! I think we were all very pleased with the results and I can honestly say that it’s got us thinking and I’ve already begun planning a special episode in response to the inquiries. What really surprised me was how I always think that perhaps the length of the show is an issue (either too long or too short), but the majority of the respondents seemed fine with our somewhat regular ‘one slightly over an hour / one under an hour’ fortnightly routine.
Some of the results include:
4. What Sections Of Our Show Do You Enjoy?
Dr Rachie Reports 87.7%
Interviews 86.3%
The Think Tank 86.3%
Grain Of Salt 65.8%
On Site Reports (e.g. Mind / Body / Spirit Festival) 65.8%
2. Which Skeptic Zone Interviews / Lectures Have You Enjoyed?
Dr Phil Plait 79.4%
Simon Singh 75.0%
Dr Steve Novella 73.5%
Stephen Fry 72.1%
A special thanks to that one person who wrote ‘more Kylie!’ – can’t promise anything (at this rate, I’m still working on every other thing I have committed too), but it’s nice to know someone likes my occasional appearances on the Skeptic Zone.
I hope to write again before the end of the month, particularly to contribute to some other sites out there.
In the meantime – The Young Australian Skeptics site has some great reads; the Ask Podblack Twitter is still running and download moar Skeptic Zone!

I didn’t take part but, fwiw, I think you have a voice and presentation that would be at home in a regular program on ABC radio. If you ever get time, you should put it to them.
Concur with Andy. And the results for the survey are skewed( they don’t include me ) but yeah more kylie, need to balance the cast geographically
*blush*
I’m hoping to do one suggestion a listener made, about the creation of a podcast, how we do it, what tips we have for those who are interested in doing one… hopefully an interview too! But there’s all the R and R trip to do first (and my thesis rewrite and cleaning the house and blah blah blah blah… don’t expect much in terms of lengthy blog posts this week, essentially).
