Agreed, we had a sermon once by one of the believers in our church about this. Suffice it to say me and him remain on opposite ends of the theological Unitarian divide (in other words he’s still liberal even for an Anglican). I can’t remember how he did it but he managed to twist the story into some kind of moral lesson but mannaged to miss what was actually said. I think this one does a better job though (oh dear, pun not intended).
Anyway taking the piss out of the bible is beneficial for those who haven’t wised up yet to the idea that people can deserve respect but ideas can’t.
Plus it make for brilliant humor.
