Thor’Ungal,
im 13 and into science and skepticism (my RS teacher isn’t so chuffed but i find it really interesting)
i got loads of books from the library which got me started on the ideas and just generally chatting to classmates or family members with similarly skeptic views.
listening to podcasts like ones from the link below and hearing it in comic context (like minchin songs) make it interesting and more fun to get a grip of it
. but then again, not everyone will get it (taking into consideration boys tend to not get exited by anything remotely educational). its easier to let them figure it out for themselves rather than force it upon them (not suggesting you are, just pointing it out)

p.s. ‘science is golden’ is an awesome book but a bit heavy-going to start with, get something a little funnier, simpler and sticks to the basics. i can’t remember a specific book but im sure its out there
p.p.s. if he does become interested in skepticism i suggest: ‘a skeptic’s guide to the paranormal’ and ‘flim-flam’. they’re wicked & probably my favorites.

Hey, thanks for transcribing the words! I'm a relatively new, but huge Tim Minchin fan... not only because he's hugely talented and entertaining, but because he's using those talents to carry a message that really, really needs to be heard to folks that might not otherwise listen. Love this Guy…in a platonic kind of way . Going on his kind of rant in a room full of cultural relativists can get to shouted down real quick. Still I’d love to try one day.

btw any ideas how to get a 13 year old interested in science and skepticism?? I got my brother “Science is Golden” by Dr Karl for Newtonmas but I think I vastly underestimated just how apathetic he is towards the subject. He’s into computer games, sport and little else.
