Letting Go of God is a one-person-monologue by Julia Sweeney chronicling her search for God.
I enjoyed catching the show live at The Amazing Meeting 3 and got the audio version then -- newly released, you can buy the DVD of Letting Go Of God here!

For sensationalism, that video trailer has clips that makes her out to be a little meaner than she is. Her journey was more of a soul searching than what is shown (which makes it sound like a few bad things in the Bible convinced her). It is definitely worth a read and/or listen.
Yeah, it is a little tough, isn’t it? She did go through a significant amount of time in her searching, across several different aspects of belief. And absolutely – well worth checking out.
I didn’t think it was harsh at all in comparison to some other comedians. It was worth it to just hear somebody say “have you actually read that book?” I bet you couldn’t get Solomon past the TV sensors. We were not allowed to open our bibles there when we were young as it raised too many questions. I suppose some of the bible could be on an episode of “Law and Order SVU”, like, two daughters that drug and rape their father to have children. The real mystery is why so many different mystical conclusions and institutions remain accepted.
Thanks for the trailer, might request it for christmas.
