Little Kitten – Scratchy Tag… Scrtich Scritch…

by podblack on November 7, 2008

Now, apparently this ‘Musings and Rants – The Goddess of the Gaps blog reads me! But I’m not in their blogroll… I’ll add them to mine, however. I do like their url name: http://www.blackcatthursday.com

The Ground Rules are apparently:

1. Link to the person who tagged you. (done)
2. Post the rules on your blog. (uh huh)
3. Write six random things about yourself. (easy enough)
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them. (who will I irk… oh dear…)
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog. (will do)
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up. (righty-ho…)

The Six:

  • I just got back from doing some qualitative research in a school. The second student of the day looked like a far healthier version of Amy Winehouse. Right down to the hairstyle and eye-makeup. She wants to go to University to study Fine Arts;
  • The top row of the bookshelf opposite me (I’m typing from the ’sunroom’, which is the one room of the house that gets direct sun and is large enough for both the ’second lounge-room’ as well as all the gaming table, paraphernalia, et al.) features amongst the more visible titles: ‘Classic Australian Folklore’; ‘The Spirit Cabinet‘ by Paul Quarrington; Thelwall’s ‘Magnificat‘; ‘Jennifer Government‘ by Max Barry; ‘The Phantom Tollbooth‘ by Norton Juster; ‘Dexter In The Dark‘ by Jeff Lindsay; ‘When I’m Dead, All This Will Be Yours‘ by Teller and ‘The Fabric of the Cosmos‘ by Brian Greene;
  • I have 300 or so words to write on the topic of “Are parapsychologists just jumping on the ‘weird physics’ bandwagon? Can theories of quantum level events really be applied at the psychological level to human thought processes and behaviour? Is this parapsychology’s best hope for scientific acceptance and approval?
  • I was just reading the Law and Magic Blog whilst trying to come up with another random and found one: that Penn Jillette features on an episode of ‘Numb3rs‘, which one of my former tutorial students introduced me to last year. She would stay behind at school and watch eps on the school system (I think one of the Maths teachers got them, to help encourage an interest in the subject);
  • Um, the grey cat, Corwin, just found something crunchy on the floor to munch and I don’t want to know what it is he cornered and is eating… now he’s batting it around and doing forward-rolls with it, so I definitely don’t want to know what it is;
  • My two-tone Converse shoes are turned inside out and are drying off on the footstool near me – photo for proof.

And I have noticed that my blogroll has disappeared… huh. I’ll get busy finding it again… never fear!

Oh – just saw then that Hoyden About Town has suggested nominations for their 2008 Weblog awards, so check that out – and nominate me!! And others! Whilst you’re reading the other fine entries at the #99th Skeptics Carnival, at Ferret’s Cage, I’m sure!

Yay, I love reading six random things about bloggers I like! :) I already got tagged by PalMD for this one– my answers are up here.

Also, The Phantom Tollbooth is one of my favorite books!!! (And you named your cat Corwin–does this mean you are a Zelazny fan, too?)
