I’m still on the road at the moment – although ‘on the road’ is an odd summation for a rather nice hotel on the beachfront in Geraldton. If this is winter, I’m wondering why I have the airconditioner on and just came back from a sunset walk complete with cuttlefish bones on the shore. I might even have a bit of a spa next… before knuckling down for a day of qualitative interviews with rural and remote students, to bring our quota closer to the total of 200.
Last week I mentioned attending a lecture in Brisbane – what I didn’t mention was all of the other interactions with skeptics in the city! We went to check out one of the oldest bookstores in the city, and when I mean ‘we’, I mean Dr Bridgstock, Michael McRae and the lovely Liz, who is one of the hosts of The Natural 20 RPG Podcast. Apparently there are books that claim they can read your personality through the moles on your body… urgh.
Enjoy the visual splendor for your very self – quarantine and customs! Early morning coffee in Brisbane with weird air-balloon sculptures! A Brisbane effort at the ‘London Eye’! And a church turned into a REALLY great pancake parlor. Of course, wonderful walking, walking and walking. Best of all, I’ve included some of the lecture presented by Michael: ‘Wolf in a sheep’s labcoat: pseudoscience in the 20th century’!
