Remember my recent investigations into DORE?
Some breaking news that involves the group here in Australia, thanks to Gimpy’s Blog and the ever-vigilant Brain Duck:
Dore Australia have just gone into receivership. Staff (including myself) have not been paid for the month of May and turned up for work on Fri 16th to find all clients cancelled and to be told via Australia wide teleconference that they were to go home and would find out in a week if their contracts would be terminated. We may or may not see our money.
We were given no warning, in fact had we had any idea, we would not have been signing new people onto the program. In my clinic, we were signing new people on and taking their money on Thurs 15th.
The day we went into receivership. We were made to look like crooks by taking money for a service we now can’t provide. I am angry for the clients.
I want to know, where is Wynford in all of this. We were told he would always support us, yet we have heard nothing? I feel betrayed as I and the rest of the staff truly believed in the program. We saw first hand the results it can have.
Will find out more about it ASAP!

Let us know if you find out anything going on ‘on the ground’…
You bet. This is just awful, on so many levels…
Thanks. It’s good to have people closer to the situation looking into it.
Are we able to ask for their financial records under FoI?
DORE talk say it’s definite. I’m keeping my blog updated with any sources I can find. Please let us know what’s going on when you get in Monday – thanks!
HJ – they just released a statement then… as for whether financial records are for public viewing, I do happen to be related to someone in the ATO…
HJ – I wrote about the finances of DDAT (UK) here. The link for the documents for Dore Australia is here. Unfortunately it seems to cost $30 to view them (by comparison it costs £1 for the UK records). It would be really interesting to see the Australian records as Dore have claimed that they have treated 10,000 clients which seems extraordinary. It is possible that Dore have been overstating their success for a while.
Hmm. Good point, I will ask.
I’m not entirely confident that I’ll find ANYONE to talk to when I go to DORE (an empty office? People taking out the furniture to be sold off?) but at least I can try.
I’ve seen ~11000 clients in quite a few places. Remember they’ve got 19 centres, & been going out there since 2002 – so ~ 100 clients / centre / year seems do-able, especially given non-completion rates.
Even if you do find people taking out the furniture, that at least indicates that they don’t intend to come back – more info than official DORE channels have given out so far.
Hi All,
I am truely sorry to hear of the plight of both Staff and clients in Australia.
I am the ex CEO of Dore UK who has a court case against Dore UK next week for what i believe was wrongful dismissal.
This has taken nearly a year to get to court.
If anyone would like to contact me personally for information regarding the structure of the Company (a matter of public record) and for other contacts Globally please do so bobclarke4@hotmail.com.
I cannot comment on the specifics of my case or the evidence i will be presenting but this is going to be covered by the media.
dore uk has just followed australia !!!!!!!!!
