GREAT review in the Brooklyn Vegan! “Tim Minchin – a few NYC shows left, videos” by Klaus Kinski:
Australian comedic phenomenon Tim Minchin has been doing 90-minute shows at the New World Stages in NYC since March 3rd I’m covered in blood and bruises from kicking myself for not mentioning this earlier. I saw a brief Tim Minchin performance once at the UCB Theater and I almost fell out of my chair. Not only was his material and his execution among the most brilliant I’ve ever seen, but his skills at the piano were astounding.
And you should be kicking yourself for not checking out the NY Skeptics pages which has been offering discounts for nights too! My NY Skeptics shirt arrived just in time for the WW conference and I’ll have to pop up a photo of myself wearing it later.
Don’t forget to check out The Tank interview with Minchin, which can be seen here – funnily enough, last night I was at Methodist Ladies’ College where his wife graduated from (I used to work there and Minchin himself graduated from the school next door, Christchurch) and discovered that yes, I did teach his young cousin for two years straight! She says ‘hi’, by the way – Troy did very well in the choir for House, Singing and Drama this year! But I think Corinth rocked it the best in Drama.
