Yes, it’s true – today I zoom off to hang out with a select group of Australian Skeptics at the sooper-sekrit (well, not really, it’s been on the cards for a while now) meeting in Wagga Wagga!
You should see my flight plan, it’s Perth-Melbourne-Sydney-WW then WW-Sydney-Canberra (to hang out with Michael ‘Athon’ McRae and his seriously gorgeous, imported US bride) then zipping back with a much more sensible Canberra-Perth. What a weekend!
I’ve got my presentation ready on power point, annotated printouts, memory-stick and backup disk AND laptop (I’m not anal, I just take fifteen to twenty minutes of talking about ‘Critical Thinking In The Classroom’ seriously! ) – and I’ve got a few blog posts written ahead of time so I’ll blog by proxy rather than having to discover that an airport terminal computer bay has a roll of chewing gum instead of a mouse-ball. It has happened…
But first – in preparation for annoying the noses off Richard Saunders and Jayson Cooke of the TANK
vodcast… here’s some Jebus in a spoon! A snip on Ebay at US $96.00 after only 41 bids so far!
MIRACLE JESUS SPOON…This Spoon has a VERY VIVID IMAGE OF JESUS CHRIST on the eating portion of the spoon. It was very hard to photograph because the image almost appears in 3D. This spoon came out of the dishwasher this way. It has never been touched in any way or tampered with. I do have more pictures of this spoon available to email if you want to see them. I have NEVER seen anything like it. It is a very, very unique item.
Of course, pareidolia interpreted to have a religious message is such a unique experience. Ahem.
I liked the summation by one of the news reports on it (“Restaurant spoon offers image of Christ, and its for sale, father of its finder says” By Steve Vantreese):“Even beyond artistic value, the spoon still has practical worth. It could be used with which to eat cereal, including Illinois-shaped cornflakes, one of which recently sold on eBay for $1,350. “
Must remember to take some spoons with me to bend at Wagga Wagga… bye!
