Right -- now we’ve got actress-nonsense-who-cares out of the way, let’s get to real news: Dr Krissie Wilson is on Counterpoint, today!
FBI agent Fox Mulder in the TV series The X-Files had a poster on his office wall which read, I Want To Believe. In the 21st century people are prepared to believe in all sorts of things. Krissy Wilson has a particular interest in the psychology of belief and the science of self deception.
I was fortunate enough to interview her at the Hobart Skeptics Conference. She moved to the University of Tasmania after coming from Goldsmiths College (ARPU), London, where she graduated with a PhD in Anomalistic Psychology.
The speech she gave for the Hobart conference is in the most recent Australian Skeptics Journal -- she was even a covergirl with me and 2007 winner Loretta Marron! But you can see for yourself how wonderful she is by going about thirty minutes into this episode of the TANK vodcast:
We’ll be seeing about getting links to this episode, but if you’re in Australia you can tune into the show at 4pm (6pm if you’re in WA) and it’s repeated this Friday at 1pm. Or, simply go onto the ABC Radio National Website for Counterpoint!
The iTunes link is here -- and she’s apparently about twenty minutes into today’s show -- helpful subscribing links here: audio and text.
